  Blanc氯甲基化反应是指在Lewis酸催化下，芳香族化合物和HCl、甲醛或氯甲醚反应，在芳香族化合物中引入氯甲基。




反应机理

 

反应机理类似于付克酰基化反应，即甲醛与氯化氢二氯化锌首先反应生成亲电物种，然后与芳香化合物发生芳香亲电取代反应生成羟甲基化中间体，苄醇被进一步氯代得到氯甲基化产物。




氯甲基醚[如(ClCH2)2O]和甲氧基乙酰基氯也可作为亲电试剂直接用于反应。反应也可以在离子液体中进行。
